Tasting Notes: Almond, Milk Chocolate, Red Apple

Origin: Santa Ana, Finca Hungria Organic Farm

Altitude: 1100m

Varietals: Bourbon, Caturra, Pacas, Catimor

Farm: Established in the 1930's, Finca Hungria is an organic farm that also carries the Rainforest Alliance and SMBC certifications. Significant tree cover by cedar, oak, and basalm trees provides shaded growth for the farm's coffee and a natural rainforest habitat for local birds. Largely unscathed by the Ilamatepec eruption in 2006 and the coffee rust epidemic in 2012, the farm maintains strong production and has achieved a Denomination of Origin status.

Yellow-breasted Chat

The Yellow-breasted Chat’s unique song can be heard in the spring when males serenade potential mates. The largest of the warblers, the Chat can be found mostly in shrubby habitats across North America, migrating to Central America for the winter. The Yellow-breasted Chat population has declined mostly because of the clearcutting of shrubs where they nest. Aves Coffee Co. supports conservation efforts to protect the natural habitat of birds like the Yellow-breasted Chat.

Very good

I ordered this coffee to use for espresso. It was shipped very quickly and very freshly roasted. The coffee tastes excellent for espresso and I'm really enjoying it. I'll be trying other coffees from Aves in the future.
